Adopt a Cat
Adopting a rescue animal is a meaningful, long-term commitment. At Friends of Murphy, we focus on thoughtful matches that set both the animal and the adopter up for success.
We don’t always have cats available for adoption. When animals are in our care and ready for adoption, they will be listed here along with information about their needs, personality, and adoption requirements.
Our adoption approach
Our adoption process is designed to be caring, transparent, and focused on long-term wellbeing, not speed.
When cats are available, the process generally includes:
Reviewing available animals
Completing an adoption application
A conversation to ensure a good fit
Meeting the animal when appropriate
Finalizing the adoption
We’re here to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the process.
What adoption includes
When you adopt through Friends of Murphy, animals in our care receive appropriate support before placement, which may include:
Veterinary assessment
Age-appropriate vaccinations
Spay or neuter, or an agreement if the animal is too young
Deworming and flea treatment when needed
Ongoing support after adoption
A thoughtful timeline
We believe adoption decisions should be made with care. Taking the time to ensure the right match helps create stable, permanent homes and sets everyone up for success.
